Virgin flight of Virgin Galactic’s VSS Enterprise: Photo Gallery

The VSS Enterprise was unveiled last December, and today flew for the first time out of Mojave Spaceport in California, as captured in the image above.

I love news articles with words like “Galactic” and “Spaceport”!

Palm This Is Your Survival GuideOh Palm. Just a little over a year ago your future seemed so bright, so renewed. You walked away from CES 2009 reborn, held aloft by a completely innovative new mobile operating system, a striking piece of hardware, and a feeling amongst the press and investors that you were back in the game and playing to win. Now, less than a year and a half later, you’ve nearly returned to the dark and desperate place you’d found yourself in at the end of 2008; a rapidly declining mindshare, the bottom falling out of your stock, and bad dips in phone sales. All of it is leaving you backed into a corner where the common perception now is that you’ve got to sell to survive at all. So what went wrong? How did such a promising launch lead to such a disappointing reality? And how can you wrestle your way back from the brink yet again? Is that even an option?from Engadget

We had lunch at Big Sky in San Luis Obispo. I had a Vietnamese bánh mì sandwich, and it was awesome. I haven’t had one in forever. I miss K Sandwich in San Diego; that place rocks!

Phoenix is a band that I love, and definitely don’t listen to often enough. (Currently #9 in the last 6 months on last.fm.)

Their album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix released in 2009 was awesome and Rome is one of my favorite songs on the album. This is a great remix.

Enjoy!

Air - “Sing Sang Sung (Black Moth Super Rainbow Remix)”

I’ve had this in my to-post queue for longer than I can remember, and can probably come up with 100 slacktastic reasons why I haven’t posted it yet. And the only reason I hadn’t just given up and deleted it without ever posting it is because, well, it’s really good.

Air tends to have a certain delicateness to their music, where BMSR tend to be anything but delicate. Apparently, though, when you let BMSR remix an Air track, they manage to take the original and turn it into an almost completely different song that somehow still feels at once like both an Air song and a BMSR song. Now that’s a good remix.

I used to listen to a lot of Air. Maybe I should revisit them. Great remix!
